Vesta Vase

Vesta came together slowly, as most of my pieces do, without a sketch or a fixed idea of where she would end up. I was torn between leaving her raw and glazing her, but eventually it felt like she was asking to be dressed. I chose Verdigris Drift, a glaze combination that brought out deep earthy browns, muted mineral tones and subtle shifts across the surface — dark, but not heavy, with something warm and quietly uplifting I did not expect when I was making her. Handbuilt in stoneware, Vesta is entirely one of a kind. Her irregular form and changing surface are part of the process, leaving the piece with its own character and presence.
